Notes
Another Day At The Office
This is my tenth studio project. Since we humans tend celebrate on the multiples of ten, I guess this calls for a celebration (I take a sip of champagne). When I started my singer-songwriter career I had no idea where it might lead. I just knew I had to try it. What began as a job with poor pay and lousy benefits has far exceeded my expectations. On the way to making ten records, I have crisscrossed the country in cars, motor homes, buses and planes. I have played on some of the best beaches in the Caribbean, and once did a show in Canada in February (unfortunately, tropical rock refers to the music not the location). The people I have met and the places I have seen are the subject matter of my music. My working life is a party by the water, and when I’m not working, I’m researching. A day at the beach is a good day at work when you’re lucky to live life this way. This is what I do and it is a wonderful thing. From a human resources perspective, I’d say that my job is a fringe benefit. The next time you are at a show on the beach next to the Caribbean Sea and you see me walk on stage, remember, for me, it’s just another day at the office.
