"At the core of us, what we all long for is truth, genuine, authentic, honest truth. We don't really want a copy of something else when it comes to art, and in the same breathe we don't care if something has never been done before if it is from the creator's soul, and it in turn stirs ours. As an artist, the easiest trap to fall in is to forget to let my music be an overflow of me: my triumphs, my defeats, my joy, my pain, with all the revelations that stem from those things. And hopefully all those things will resonate with the listener, but that cannot be so much of my goal, will the listener like it, that I offer something that is not even from me. That in an attempt to make something that will be well received I create something that doesn't even stir me, while somehow still hoping it will stir others. I am still on this journey and I have not arrived, nor will I. But this is what I aim to make my music, true, music that originates from my soul, perhaps to those of others. After all, the final destination of music is not the ear, but the soul."

Newburn’s music and writing somehow doesn’t fit very well in established categories while at the same time doesn’t feel too far outside of the norm. Regardless, Benjamin Newburn's music certainly does seem to undeniably resonate with his those who hear it, far more than an appreciate of a musical style.
Benjamin Newburn starting writing music when he was 11 years old. He plays and has played multiple instruments. In the beginning he started as a drummer, then he started singing, then learned piano, as well as guitar. He is not only a gifted musican/singer/songwriter but also is skilled in areas of production behind the scenes, having recorded and mixed multiple albums, as well as produced multiple albums and projects of others.
