Description

Hardworking swedes Suburbia is back with their third fullengt album, Assemble. For fans of Foo Fighters, Butch Walker, My Chemical Romance and other awesome rocking acts!

Notes

Started as a three-piece pop/rock band in 2001, by Magnus Sorensen, Anders Persson and Peter Lärk. The first three years of the band was pretty much goofing around in the rehearshal room and playing with song ideas. Several demos was recorded between 2001-2003, and in 2004 the band recorded and released their first fullenght album There´s Two Sides Of Everything. The album included the song Make Me Feel Alive which scored the band a minor hit at several swedish radio stations. The same year Ulrik Hedin joined as lead guitarist.

In 2006 Suburbia released their sophomore album Songs For A Perfect Mixtape, showing of a much more rock side of the band. The first single from the album, Easier To Dream, scored second place in VH1′s “Song Of The Year”. A competition for unsigned bands and artists, with a jury consisting of Norah Jones (9x Grammy Award winner), Tim Palmer (U2/Goo Goo Dolls) and Sheila E (Prince/Ringo Starr). The album got great reviews in Sweden and the US. That same year Suburbia shared stages with bands like Backyard Babies, Hellacopters and Millencolin.

One year later the band went on a small break to concentrate on other things while recharging the batteries for some more Suburbia action. When coming back from the break, bassist Anders Persson (to concentrate on his family and chewing loads of snus) and Peter Lärk (just disappeared and no one has seen him since) left the band and was replaced by drummer Daniel Tibell and bassist Simon “Travolta” Lundin. A few songs had been recorded but never finalized before the break. These songs along with some new one was to become the Crash EP released in the summer of 2008. Led by the single Sleep the EP got pretty good reviews in Sweden, the US and all the way over in Japan.

“People always asked us what we sound like and it feels like we have gotten to the point
where we dont write music inspired by other music, we just make new Suburbia songs. What we listen to? Thats a completely different question I´ll gladely answer but that may not be a hint of how we sound, so why not just take a listen to us instead?”

“Our music is not meant to be hyper polished to the tiniest detail, coz thats not how we sound live. The guitars and bass will never be heavier than it sounds when we rehearse and the drums will never pass through a computer to set them completely straight. Thats just not us. Listening to a record by Suburbia will like hearing us live, just a little more produced.”

Time flies and the release that was intended to be out in early 2010 is now finaly here.
The brand spanking new Suburbia album Assemble! is out on Nov 25th!
