Notes
MELANIE FALKO & JORDAN LEE / Father & Daughter
On a cool November Evening, my dad & I teamed up to produce some blues, folk and Irish songs on our first CD. I auditioned each song and made the final decision on what remained and what didn't.
As a father and daughter team, this is our first ever CD/iTunes production. I especially loved 'When Irish Eyes Are Smiling' & decided to name it after that title and as track #1.
Our recordings measured up to a labor of love, a chance to join together as family, artists, business partners and fellow travelers on this unpredictable journey of life. We hope you enjoy the music as much as we enjoyed producing it...Melanie Falko
FAVORITES:
Melanie's Blues
Ode To Chet Atkins
Dr. Z Blues
Waltzing Matilda

ABOUT THE SONGS
One of my very favorites on this collection is 'Ode To Chet Atkins' a tribute to one of the greatest guitarists ever. The song has a folk and country flavor with a catchy melody.
Danny Boy also is a favorite with harmonica player, Gene Jones, on the lead melody. Gene is a member of Jordan Lee & Friends, dad's band.
'Melanie's Blues' is a jazzy-style blues with strong hint of some cool improv overtones, which I love!
You might just think someone put on a different CD when playing 'Traveling New York To Georgia Blues' because that particular tune features a more rocking with mostly rhythm sound. nevertheless it's a true blues song in the tradition of old style rock & roll, I love it.
Dr. Z Blues is a little more laid back, but blusey and unique. We tried to keep the styles distinct.
We also added 'Silent Night to the mix simply because of the acoustic guitar quality and sound, (Why wait all year to hear a great song?) and this one is especially nice, performed with a very mellow sounding acoustical six-string Martin Shenandoah and classical guitars.
Waltzing Matilda is beautiful. Chet Atkins performed this song with Tommy Emmanuel on 'The Day Fingerpickers Took Over The World'. We recorded a softer mix of that classic as well as a mellow version of Aura Lee which is also an acoustic guitar only production.
Thanks for buying When Irish Eyes Are Smiling!
