Notes

Philadelphia’s psychedelic child Cheers Elephant officially
announce the release of their second LP Man is Nature, unveiling a striking new sound
for casual listeners and music snobs alike. The debut of this full-length album reveals a
more melodic and roots rock and roll sound while staying true to the psychedelic and
progressive nature Cheers Elephant thrives in.
Produced by Todd Mecaughey of The New Connection at Cambridge Studios, Cheers
Elephant’s second studio release will feature such crowd favorites as Como es la Vida,
6th and Girard, and Shark Attack in a warm, hi-fi setting. The album plays with the ears
by taunting British Invasion-esque harmonies, Progressive Rock interludes, and a
frequent overtone of absurdity that shouldn’t make sense, but does.
Started in 2007, Cheers features Derek Krzywicki, Travelin' Matt, Jordan del Rosario,
Roberto Kingston whom can be summed up best by this quote by Helen Leicht of
WXPN: “According to the members of Cheers Elephant, the first elephant to set foot in
America was able to open beer bottles and drink the contents as a result of scarce potable
water on the ship, thus the four fantastic musicians of the group, inspired by this story,
created their name. Known for their eccentric shows and British sound, this Philly Local
psychedelic, folk, rock band will have you intrigued from the very moment they step onto
the stage. Often compared to the Kinks and Dr. Dog, Cheers Elephant has established a
dense following both locally and otherwise."
