"These unique songs owe their success to three factors: strong, piano-centered instrumentation; Nina Zeitlin’s rich and melodically-complex vocals; and lyrics that put a surprisingly fun spin on ordinary topics like food and clothing. ...I mean, I could say 'Hey, this is awesome—you should buy it,' but that’s not saying nearly enough."
-ArtOfIrreverence.com

"Something Sweet is just that, a sweet, surprising and utterly pleasant album from start to finish. There's no reason you couldn't leave this disc spinning long after your kids have been deposited at school or after they've drifted off to sleep...I cannot stop playing their CD. I love it and my girls love dancing to it."
-Jeff Bogle, OutWithTheKids.com

"This is an appealing concoction of off-the-beaten-path songs... The title track is a little masterpiece..."
-Lynne Heffley, Parents' Choice

Something Sweet is an upbeat, catchy, and joyful collection. Highly recommended especially for playing at children's birthday parties (or during long car trips with kids in tow)!
-Midwest Book Review

"[K]ids' music with a real unique sound... The songs are very hip, the piano is classically cool, and Nina Zeitlin's voice is rich and smokey." -BostonChildrensMusic.com

A Fresh Sound for Kids and Grown-ups

Since its release in the summer of 2009, King Pajama’s award winning, critically acclaimed, debut album Something Sweet has received the highest praise. The album’s unique, piano-driven sound includes rock, funk, jazz, blues, pop and bossa nova. Whimsical, humorous and moving songs appeal to children but are sophisticated enough to keep adults enticed. Song themes include the unbridled joy of eating ice cream in “Chocolate Ice Cream”, the mythic origins of sleepwear in “King Pajama”, the passage of time in “Time Goes” and the difficulty of dividing the world into neat categories in “Some Pieces”. Without a doubt, Something Sweet is a fun, musically eclectic journey through the magic of the everyday.

King Pajama ~ Born and Raised in Brooklyn

Music enthusiasts Jason and Jena, a husband-wife team living in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, formed King Pajama with the belief that shared enjoyment of music can bring families closer together. Through their original songs, the pair hoped to expose children to different musical styles, foster a love of music at a young age, and inspire conversations about music between children and parents. With the addition of Nina, an accomplished vocalist and music producer, their compositions came to life and King Pajama was born.
