Description
Influenced by the New Wave bands of the 80's like New Order and other synthesizer bands like Kraftwerk, OMD and Yello, Beastie Boys, The Chemical Brothers, BT, DJ Tiesto, Depeche Mode, Madonna, Linkin Park and The Crystal Method.
Notes
ThirdTemple pushes the boundaries of the Electronic music genre, introducing instruments and samples that are not commonly used in modern Techno music. Orchestral strings, exotic African drum beats and Latin grooves are only a small part of the ThirdTemple arsenal.
Raphael Cohen, Producer/musician of ThirdTemple was raised on electronic music for a big part of his life. "I was influenced by the New Wave bands of the 1980's like New Order and other synthesizer bands like Kraftwerk, OMD, Yello, and other artists like Beastie Boys, The Chemical Brothers The Crystal Method and BT," says the CEO/President of ThunderNet Inc. the Montreal-based Internet Company he helped establish in 1997.
The computer revolution of the last decade has given way to a proliferation of possibilities for musical artists and DJs to express themselves using software synthesizers and virtual samplers. Raphael, a graphic designer and web programmer with an innate, untapped musical talent; discovered and found inspiration in this new world and soon began producing Techno Beats with his computer sampler. He grew these into an original Film music project which he calls ThirdTemple.
Mystical Techno 101, the first CD of the ThirdTemple project, employs layers upon layers of World Beat, Techno and House percussion and some serious synthesizer sounds, building a flowing soundscape that pulsates through to the soul. "I never make a track that I can't move and dance to... physically and mentally," says Raphael.
He pushes the boundaries of the genre, introducing instruments and samples that are not commonly used in modern Techno or House music. Exotic African drum beats and Latin grooves are only a small part of the arsenal he uses to make his beats come alive. One might expect to hear his raw, unabashed grooves on an action movie soundtrack or on a pumping European dance floor.
Raphael plays the part of musician, producer, sound engineer, and even graphic designer for ThirdTemple. He hopes to get signed by a film company and expand this project.
ThirdTemple has a new CD available. The "Kabbalah" CD was released in March 2005. Listen to tracks at CDbaby http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/thirdtemple2
