I Only See Colors

San Antonio, TX – Cousins Alex Scheel (guitar, vocals) and George Garza (bass) along with high school friend Jorge Gonzalez (drums) began making music together over ten years ago. Pop Pistol took shape as a recording band in 2008 with the release of their first LP, ‘Angelus’. The 10 tracks were recorded at Rhapsody Street Studios with engineer Jason Ybarbo. In 2009, Pop Pistol released the ‘Shadow’ EP, 3 tracks recorded in DIY fashion at The Farm Recording Studios with help from engineer Rick Pacheo. By 2010, the band became a national touring act with several trips through the Midwest up and through to New York, continuing to earn media attention locally and on blogs nationally. In 2011, Pop Pistol released the ‘Disappearing Edges’ EP through Texas Is Funny Records. ‘Disappearing Edges’ was recorded in trade by Chris Guerra at San Antonio School for Inquiry and Creativity, a charter school with a state of the art music wing. Throughout the years, the Electro-Rock group has continued to establish itself as a growing musical force in the San Antonio music community both on and off-stage. Aside from their dedicated work as a band, the trio advocates for and organizes with Local 782, a grassroots music coalition group that serves independent musicians through educational workshops and panels discussing the current and changing shape of the music industry. In 2012, the band has re-released their Angelus LP on vinyl, shared the stage with multiple international artists including Sol Pereyra, Dev, Latin Bitman, Minus the Bear, Zuzuka Poderosa, and La Vida Boheme, and was named Best Indie Rock Band by readers of the San Antonio Current. Currently the band is self-recording their second full-length album, which they plan to self-release in September.
