The Whipps offer up a hick hop, country sound that embraces country tradition and hick hop sensiblities, blending acoustic sounds from banjo, madolin, dobro and acoustic guitars with electrified modern production elements that originate in hip hop and rock. The fusion The Whipps produce is a showcase for the band to comment on life in rural eastern Kentucky and their debut "Ghettobillies" (2010) sound continues to evolve on "Boomin', the upcoming follow up CD due out August 2013. "That's How I Roll" is the first single from the new CD. This is a grass roots, indy-fueled, alt-country band travelling the back roads and Kentucky's famed Country Music Highway 23 to Nashville and beyond.
