Description
If COLDPLAY, PINK FLOYD and NEVERENDING WHITE LIGHTS all hung out and decided to make an album, it would sound just like the debut release from "The Weak Need"
Notes
After an 11 month break and some long hours in the studio, Kitchener's "The Weak Need" are back with a whole new look and sound that is showcased on their new CD "Restitution". A deep and powerful journey that promises the listener both a lyrically intricate and musically diverse insight into the creativity of award winning songwriter Sean Croley.
Shaped by songs that deliver a gentle sincerity with a powerful intensity, “Restitution” is a whole new angle on the sound stage that unites generations of fans in its delivery. With influences like "The Cure, Linkin Park, and Pink Floyd," it is easy to see how the diverse musical influences within the band meld together to form something completely unique to Canada.
"There is no other band in Canada with a sound like you… You guys are fantastic." says Juno award-winning producer, J. Richard Hutt.
Their concerts have been called “epic and moving.” They have taken their CD to the stage and have given the audience an intense and emotional experience that has evoked some fans to email the band for weeks following a show to simply tell them what an impact the concert had on them.
Reviewers have been saying:
"They are like the Canadian Coldplay with a little bit of Pink Floyd, Thornley, and The Neverending White Lights all wrapped up in a whole lot of promise."
"The album, recorded at Kitchener's IIdB Studio, boasts some of the loveliest production quality you're liable to hear from an indie band, and makes for a strong, satisfying listen."
"...all songs fit together like pieces in a puzzle instead of a few hit singles and fillers as the rest."
"...imagine Mae on a dinner with Pink Floyd and "Restitution" would be their musical creation."
