Description

The songs of the introverts combine elements of indie rock, classic rock, classic radio R & B and a pinch of country on this, their debut album.

Notes

Hoge Day and Mark Taylor met while both were members of an artist's collective gallery in Tucson, Arizona. At the time both were visual artists; Day a painter/sculptor and Taylor a photographer and installation artist. But both of them shared an interest in music as well, and started playing guitar together. This led to a years-long friendship and collaboration that would eventually give birth to the band the introverts. They chose the name because they were initially too shy to play in front of an audience, though were actively writing and playing their own songs.
At one point during this association, Hoge Day moved to New York city to pursue his art career, and Taylor helped form a new band, the Stellas, who played and recorded around Tucson. Eventually, Day returned to Tucson, and he and Taylor resumed their creative partnership. Soon after, Daniel Behrend joined them on drums, and for the album Speak, they were joined by bassist Blair Forward to help create their driving, signature sound.
