Notes

One of Australia’s oldest and most substantial independent Country Music catalogues, Hadley Records, has been acquired by Bellbird Music with the objective of giving it a “second generation” life to these classic Australian Country Music artists. Hadley Records was founded in 1961 in Launceston (Tasmania), and through its principals Eric and Hilary Scott, had been a trailblazer in Country Music recording through four decades. Hadley led the way with regional recording technology, and been a shining example of dedication to the music and the artists. Eric and Hilary ceased most activity for the label in June 2002 and enjoy a well-earned retirement.

In the 42 years they operated the label, Hadley recordings were awarded 9 Golden Guitars and many of their recording artists have been elevated to the Roll of Renown. Gordon Parsons, Rick and Thel Carey, Dusty Rankin, Rocky Page, Rex Dallas, Kenny Kitching, Norm Bodkin, Lindsay Butler, and Les Partell included, with Eric himself awarded the Country Music Capital Award for services to Country Music in 1980.
