Music and rhythms of Algeria, Morocco, Iraq, Lebanon and Egypt in a contemporary jacket full of surprizes.
"Wasta", the first track is a fine example of this, using a typical bellydance baladi beat, middle eastern and western instruments.
"Shayk Dabelli" is a bellydance dumbek drum solo, starting slowly but quickly evolving into an irresistable beat unlike the usual stuff. "Shayk Dabelli" features mazhar, doholla, riqq and duff. This track is suited for advanced but also beginning dancers, troupe performances and classes.
"The cave of Ali Baba" brings us Baul instruments as the one stringed ektara, the dotara and the dhol spread on a bed of an Iraqi dabke rhythm.
