Description
The product of heartbreak and the realization that life moves on after living in the deep end of down. The band goes electric between the heart wrenching opener to dirty guitar funk rock inspired tracks like "The City" and "Autumn", from hopeful pop of "Press On" and "Nothing Short of Giving In" to heavy and dark melodic tracks like "Blood on the Walls" and "Goodbye Blue". The album rounds out the band's soulful blues rock trio inspired roots with guitar driven tracks such as "On The Boulevard" and "Epitaph". This is an electric album of emotionally charged lyrics over grooves and rhythms that prove to set up Above The Fold as a band not only on the verge of breakthrough but a band teasing nearly every musical genre.
Notes
Above The Fold is an unsigned rock trio formed in 2009 currently based in New York City. The band's name was inspired by the graphic design concept referring to the location of an important news story or visually appealing photograph on the upper half of the front page of a newspaper. The band's sound is reminiscent of classic guitar rock with an emphasis on groove and lyrical word play inspired by the emotion of every day life.
“love your sound, very emotional, your singer gave me goose bumps, he must be amazing live. Great songs, very interestingly written, good luck with everything you do, if your ever in LA ill be there..dUg”

“Above The Fold is one of the best unknown bands I have ever heard. I had the pleasure of hearing them last year and was just blown away by their singer/guitarist Sean Gibson. This kid is going places if he wants to. He can play Hendrix and SRV like its nothing. If you like blues rock with a kick ass guitar player then check out Above The Fold. No seriously check them out”
— Festival organizer, Beti Bassman
“Another standout performance came from Sean Gibson, who drew us in with his first song, a bluesy original followed by a slower number that even involved Sean making up a pretty good bridge for it on the spot, words included.”

Deep End Of Down was written in two phases consisting of songs I was writing after the release of our first 2010 demo Nothing Short Of Giving In and songs I wrote during the breakup of a relationship in the fall and winter of the following year. This is the first time I focused less on playing guitar riffs and more using the writing process to get out of my own head which I was so stuck in at the time. It's an emotional album.
Turn up your guitars and listen to grooves.
