Notes

Above the Pines is an Indie band based in the Seattle/Tacoma area. Together, Fiona Ray and Michael Pate offer original music, vocals, guitars, keyboards, and percussion. Guitarist Michael’s unique finger picking style and hand percussion techniques are becoming legendary, and Fiona’s haunting vocals, moving lyrics, and guitar and keyboard playing captivate audiences. Above the Pines' music is hard to define. They love to play live and they attract a wide range of fans of all ages and lifestyles. Audience members report getting goosebumps while listening, and are often deeply moved by what they hear.

Fiona and Michael met while performing at a Gig Harbor venue in Spring 2014. In Summer, they competed in and won (with different bands) Ted Brown Music's Live it OutLoud competition for youth in Tacoma, WA. Fiona and Michael spent the Fall writing songs and performing as a duo in various Puget Sound venues. They recorded seven original songs in Feb 2015.
Michael and Fiona have played at many venues including Moonfest in Quilcene, Rialto Theater and Jazzbones in Tacoma, and Louie G’s in Fife.
