Description

20 Grand combines elements of funk, hip hop, and jazz to create their danceable sound. Horn-driven party music meets clever wordsmithery.

Note

Based in Northwest Montana, but bringing influences from across the country, 20 Grand has been enlivening the Montana music scene for 5 years. This 8-piece funk band consists of an Alabama-born guitarist, three jazz-influenced horn players, drums, bass, percussion, and a California-born emcee.

Personnel:
Jamie Simpson--Guitar
Vincent Rannazzisi--Drums
Rebecca Nelson--Tenor Sax
Eric Gates--Bari Sax
Nick Simko--Trumpet
Eric Kanter--Emcee
Toby Ferguson--Percussion
Dan Brua--Bass

20 Grand has truly become greater than the sum of its parts, taking pride in its collaborative process. 20 Grand's debut album, Don't Hoard The Funk, was recorded and produced by Brett Allen at SnowGhost Music, a studio unique in Montana and beyond for it's quality of equipment. It's also notable for it's option of recording to tape, giving recordings a warmer analog sound.

Paying homage to traditions of funk, jazz, and hip hop, 20 Grand's primary objective is having fun.
