Description

This debut album defines a new genre, combining Progressive Blues, Classic Rock, and Metal, fused into a fresh new sound that appeals to your musical roots.

Notes

24 West came about the way most good things do, by accident. Drawn by inspiration to get back to what made them pick up their first instrument years ago, Brett David, Cal Eichelberger, and Josh Starkey got together to "play some songs and see what happens." Almost from the first note played after the tuning was finished, original songs began to emerge. What followed from this creative explosion is captured here on this release, "Maybe This Time." With positive reviews from North America and as well as Europe and Scandinavia, this album is sure to appeal to a wide audience.

Brett David played with Josh Starkey in a local band before the inception of 24 West, and Cal Eichelberger knew both Brett and Josh individually as acquaintances, although each was unaware of this fact. It wasn't until that fateful evening when everyone arrived at Brett's house, that all three musicians played together as a single entity. "It was one of the most organic, stress free times I can remember playing with a new group of guys. Everything just sort of fell into place right from the start. I just kept waiting for the bottom to fall out, and it just never did," said Brett David. "When I realized it was the real deal, I started writing pretty quickly. I think the whole album was written in about four sessions." Since this album was finished, the group has continued to write material in preparation for the follow up album.

"When it works this well in the group and you're dealing with three creative minds, the songs just kind of appear out of the sessions. It's a real blessing to be a part of." ~Brett David

It is the goal for 24 West to have their music heard by as many people as possible. They feel that the general interest in much of today’s music has been lacking due to over production and the industry's approach to music. 24 West hopes to help re-establish the simple and straightforward energy from the music that inspired them as artists, to help transform the direction of music today. That's why they used as much analog equipment in these recordings as possible, from custom made guitars, amps, and speaker cabinets, to the homemade plate reverb on the vocal tracks. 24 West feels this generation needs it more than ever, as the musical direction spirals downward into the pits of corporate-designed boy bands and auto-pitch corrected pop music. 24 West hope to speak musically with a down to earth sound that will reach the heart and soul of the listener, and remind them there is more to music than what the radio moguls allow you to hear.

“We wanted to find a sound that was true to each of us individually, while still embracing our musical differences. What we found was better than any of us ever expected.” ~ Brett David
