Description
Perfectly straddling the line between smooth background music and raucous dance party, this Alaskan bluegrass album brings rock stylings along with a classic regenerative all-string sound.
Notes
2 Cent Acre is a stomping bluegrass party band from Anchorage in heart of the great north of the 49th state. Playing alongside moose outside the yurt and howling at the northern lights are contemporary experiences of a group made up of young, sexy professional types taking personal time to make soul-rousing, toe-tapping music for all ages.
Named after the historically low bargain price paid by the Americans to Russia back in 18-aught-sixpence for the greatest piece of real estate ever to be vaguely inhabitable and teeming with walruses, 2 Cent Acre is a slap-you-in-the-face-in-the-way-that's-good-like-thanks-i-needed-that-man band.
This album contains brand-new original songs and a couple choice cover songs that are kid-tested, doctor-recommended, anti-inflammatory and heart-healthy. Original material contained is in part inspired by the gaggle of local vistas and culture that have an inexorably profound effect on any long-time north-liver. These songs come from the heart, or, failing that, the other critical internal organs.
It's a pretty fun listen and the band had a lot of fun making it. Check it out!
