Description
Blistering fast piano, twanging Telecasters, and raw, meaningful lyrics comprise this homegrown selection of back to the basics country music.
Notes
This original music is an evolution of a little boy sitting at the piano hunting and pecking out the tunes of Hank Williams, Jerry Lee Lewis, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. I grew up surrounded by country principles and country people and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I found the inspirations for these songs through real life experiences and traditional, old-school country themes with a little rock and roll thrown in for good measure. Every instrument and note you here is performed by me; some played better than others. The songs on this album are heavily inspired by artists from an era long ago when hard times really were hard times and everything, including music, seemed a little more authentic. I hope you are able to feel and hear that in these songs.
The music on this album was created with a budget of less than a thousand dollars. The most expensive piece of equipment bought was a multitrack recorder that was purchased on sale for 400 bucks. I hope this album is a testament to the fact that you don't have to have access to untold amounts of money to create good music. If you feel that the so-called country music of today sounds more like watered down 70's riff rock then give this album a listen. The most frequent compliment that people give me is that this music sounds nothing like what's on the radio today and that is exactly what I intended.
This album is also available on iTunes and Amazon.
