Ajo is a yoruba short form for the word irin ajo which means “journey” and this is the title track of an 11 track album of a talented artist from west Africa Nigeria. This word truly describes “Adedeji” who has been away from home for a while, having found a home on the universe, a true citizen of the world, this also describes this project even better which took over 5yrs to record and in five different countries of the world with different people and culture. its a true marriage of culture. He is a songwriter/guitarist/and singer. He could be a whole vocal ensemble by himself which is what you will listen to in some of the tracks, its a smooth marriage of Jazz, Afrobeat, Soul,Gospel, Folk and Funk.Maybe ethnic might be the genre or you can just call it what you like..This project has been recorded both in his home country Nigeria,Greece, Spain, Netherlands,and france.it features many of the best artist in all this part of the world. Including the award winning jazz guitarist (lionel loueke).
