Description

Instrumental rock guitar music with jazz, blues, and world music influences.

Notes

Adrian has just completed recording his third solo album entitled, “Earth Tones”. “Earth Tones” solidifies Galysh’s compositional style and finds his guitar playing in top form. The new recordings feature the powerhouse rhythm section of Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, Ted Nugent) on bass and Joey Heredia (Stevie Wonder, F. Gambale, S. Henderson) on drums. Special guests include Chuck Wright (Quiet Riot, House of Lords) on bass and Glen Sobel (Jennifer Batten, Gary Hoey, Tony MacAlpine) on drums on the track, Planetary Cycles, as well as Carl Verheyen (Supertramp) on second guitar on the track, Terrestrial Races.

Adrian Galysh started playing the guitar at age twelve, taking years of private lessons in the rock, jazz and classical idioms. His early influences were Uli Jon Roth (Scorpions), Randy Rhoads, and Eddie Van Halen; however, Galysh soon gained interest in modern classical composers such as Arvo Part and Carl Orff, the world music of Peter Gabriel, and the new age music of Vangelis.

Adrian Galysh earned his degree in music at Duquesne University, where he studied jazz guitar, classical piano, and majored in the Recording Arts and Science program.

Before moving to Los Angeles, Adrian kept busy as a leading session player and record producer in the Washington DC area, lending his talents to projects varying in style from country to progressive rock. In 1999, Adrian released his debut solo album, "Venusian Sunrise."

In 2002, Galysh released the album, “King Friday,” featuring high-energy guitar playing over a solid rock rhythm section with hints of jazz and world music. The recording features a number of seasoned musicians. Drummer Charlie Waymire and bassist Philip Bynoe (Steve Vai/ Kevin Eubanks) make up the rhythm section. Special guests include: Mike Keneally (Steve Vai, Frank Zappa) who lends his keyboard talents; guitarist Carl Verheyen (Supertramp/solo artist); and Jerry Corbetta (Sugarloaf), who backs Galysh up on keyboards for the Corbetta-penned classic "Green Eyed Lady.”

Galysh has performed and, or has recorded with: Reb Beach (Alice Cooper, Whitesnake, Dokken, Winger), Adrian Belew, Francis Buchhultz (Scorpions), Philip Bynoe (Steve Vai), Larry Carlton, Jerry Corbetta (Sugarloaf), Warren DeMartini (Ratt), Jerry Donahue (Hellicasters), Seymour Duncan, Robben Ford (Miles Davis), Tony Franklin (The Firm, Blue Murder), Johnny Highland (Country Guitarist), Mike Keneally (Frank Zappa, Steve Vai), Living Colour, Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel), George Lynch, Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Manring, Marco Mendoza (Ted Nugent, Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy), Uli Jon Roth (Scorpions), Blues Saracino, Carl Verheyen (Supertramp), and Dweezil Zappa.

Currently, Galysh keeps busy with recording sessions, composing, producing and performing with his band. Galysh is also highly visible in the music market as an endorsee and clinician for Brian Moore Custom Guitars, S.I.T. Strings, Morley, Seymour Duncan, and Peavey.

As for the future, Adrian plans to continue developing as an instrumental composer and pursue high profile performance situations.
