Description
Danceable dark rock music with goth attitude and electronic elements, performed by Advocatus Diaboli from Germany.
Notes
Danceable, thrilling beats, dark guitar-riffs and expressive bass-lines form the base for the devilish fundament, where powerful, electronic sound creations with distinctive male vocals and infatuated femal vocals melt to a spellbinding symphony of darkness which will not leave any part of your bodies without motions and emotions. Time has come for advanced rituals!
The German Gothic-Wave-Formation Advocatus Diaboli has started in 1996 and attracted great attention in performing on stage with - amongst others - Das Ich, ASP and Zeraphine as well as with the band's grandiose CD releases "Enter your Forest" and “Sterbend durch die Sonne”.
The band's name "Advocatus Diaboli" comes from canon law of the 16th, respectively 17th century and has the meaning of "The Devil's Advocate". During a canonization for instance a priest plays the role of the Devil's Advocate to interfer the canonization. Contrary to "Advocatus Dei", God's Advocate, who represents the counterparty. Whereby The Devil's Advocate also plays this role within its own ranks as an opportunist. Later in time the figure of "The Devil's Advocate" found his way into the theaters.
The most independent tracks introduced by Advocatus Diaboli are certainly not only known by playing the band's songs in the numerous clubs but also through their contributing their songs to various Gothic samplers, e.g. "Nachtschwärmer 8" where Advocatus Diaboli can be found between tracks by Diary of Dreams, Samsas Traum and many more.
The overall positive media's reactions on Advocatus Diaboli‘s music range from a "High Level Danse Macabre" to "Gothic-Rock at its Best".
Advocatus Diaboli will give you the feeling of been carried into devilishly fascinating atmospheres of multifaceted sounds on their new release "Sternenmarsch" which is on the market since October 2006.
