Description
The sound is an evocative, minor key blend of ‘70s pop rock and contemporary indie pop, with rich imagery, lush vocal harmonies and catchy, melodic hooks.
Notes
These Fine Moments, an Austin, Texas duo, are happy to announce the completion of Patience, produced by Mark Hallman, which will be released on September 1, 2015. They will celebrate with a free show at One-2-One Bar in Austin at 8:00 pm on September 6.
The sound is an evocative, minor key blend of ‘70s pop rock and contemporary indie pop, with rich imagery, lush vocal harmonies and catchy, melodic hooks.
"It comes at you from several directions," says Hallman, a studio veteran known for his work with Carole King and Elyza Gilkyson. "There's a ‘70s influence in there as well as a modern sound with an edge to it.”
These Fine Moments were formed by Robert Watts and Hilary Kaufmann in 2010, and have been quietly assembling an arsenal of solid original material and catalog of radio-ready recordings. The duo had the privilege of working with Hallman on their first two full-length efforts, These Fine Moments and Bright Idea, each of which garnered airplay on Austin's local music programs. Sooner or Later, a 5-song compilation produced by Stephen Doster in 2014, also made the rounds locally.
Ahead of the release of Patience, the title cut from the record was selected to appear on Texas Music Magazine’s 2015 Summer Compilation, which is distributed to over 10,000 subscribers and media outlets.
