An almost-concept album. Rock, folk and blues-inspired songs around the theme of numbers. Collaborative songwriting from creative musicians, enjoying working together and loving the material!
Notes
This is the first album by Zeta, a collaboration between guitarist Dean Powell, drummer Jes Kerr, and multi-instrumentalist and singer Simon Pollack. Almost neighbours in Cambridgeshire, UK, we're inspired by music with roots in rock, blues and folk.
We believe in the equality of all the instruments: our guitars aren't always providing screaming solos, our drums do more than keep a linear rhythm, our vocals and lyrics complement the underlying music.
It's an almost-concept album. Many songs relate in a some way to numbers and counting, which is the source of the album title. We elaborate on this theme in the name of our band (you'll need to do some googling to unravel that one...)
But you don't need to know all that :) Hopefully you'll just like the songs.
