A creative collection of melodic modern rock songs played with both traditional and electronic instruments, all built around an acoustic guitar. A groove-oriented, upbeat acoustic record with soulful melodies, harmonies and inspirational lyrics.

This record is a follow-up to my, "Don't Try this at Home" CD. That disc was an impromptu collection of singles that I had written for different people and causes. Rather than wait for a full band to realize them, I decided to leave them as acoustic songs and release them all together.

This time, I deliberately wrote songs to be played together. I thought about what I haven't said yet musically on the acoustic guitar and how I can show the upbeat side of this instrument, rather than just the mellow side. I wanted a new collection of songs that would rock and groove along side the heartfelt soulful numbers... without losing the dynamic builds within each song.

From incorporating loop beats and synthesizer embellishments to swiping butter knives on grill racks, I introduced more rhythmic percussion to the songs, while still not having to depend on a full band to play them live. The result? A mixture of traditional and electronic instruments all built around the acoustic guitar. The songs are an even combination of modern melodic rock along side traditional blues music that manages to stay mostly upbeat. This music was designed for grooving and cruising! That's why there is a car on the cover :)

While the individual songs can stand on their own, there is a conceptual feel that I like to create with an album. There are many reoccurring themes and references that connect the songs together.

The conceptual idea behind, "Extended Moments of Clarity" is to embrace the present tense. To own every single moment we are in because it's the only one that really counts. And all our past experiences just prepare us for who and where we are right now. It's also about realizing that whatever path you are on is inherently yours. No one else can walk it for you and no one else can fully understand what is right for you. That there is a much bigger picture connecting all of these moments that is beautiful and benevolent... and infinite... we are always adding to it :)
