The highly anticipated debut album is a perfect blending of classic rock, country ballads, and bright pop. This home-grown band explores the edges of heartbreak & inspires our souls to sing and enjoy the colors of their musical palate

Born in the new millennium, The Acton Music Project is a band that cut its musical chops playing classic rock and current pop favorites in the smoky bars and clubs of Metro West Boston. Whether it be an intimate coffee house setting, a formal wedding or a 500 person block party, AMP rocks out soulful melodies with beautiful harmonies that keeps a crowd dancing.

Founded by public school principal Chris Whitbeck (Guitar) and his friend and school music teacher, Peter Broggi (Drums) today's lineup of The Acton Music Project is a collaboration of musicians who share a love of music and the belief that everyone can make music. Each member, a multitalented musician in their own rights, together form an amazingly entertaining and fun loving group. While each individual plays a primary instrument, each member also takes on whatever role is necessary whether it be playing lead guitar, harmonica, drumming, or singing a harmony. Craig VanDerAa (Bass) , Andrew Meglis (Guitar), Bill Brandon (Lead Guitar) and Ed Yost (Conga) are founding members. Joe Carotenuto (Sax) joined the band soon after AMP's second birthday and vocalists Stephanie Tajima and Lori Fassman keep the boys in line and add a soft and soulful quality to the band and their songs.

The Acton Music Project's debut album is titled, “DIY” (Do It Yourself) because, well, they did it themselves! All the songs were written (save one), recorded, performed, produced, and mixed by members of the Acton Music Project. The arrangement was organic as the band simultaneously learned and recorded songs. In keeping with the DIY concept kitchens, hallways, bathrooms, classrooms, and basements, served as recording studios over the span of three separate sessions in late 2013 and early 2014.

The band also promotes music making throughout the Boston area. One of the only bands that is also a registered non-profit charitable organization, the proceeds from concerts and sales support musical programs for students in public schools. The Acton Music Project is not only a band with musical chops, it is a band with a social conscience.
