Description
Modern lyrical compositions disfigured by improvised elements. Guitars covered in mud and detuned beyond sensible range are plugged into dying amps stuffed with nails.
Notes
ADAM BRISBIN is a young guitarist and composer from Austin TX currently residing in Brooklyn. His playing combines elements of avant-garde, symbolist-era classical, stride guitar and dinosaur music. Experiencing his debut solo guitar album M A D R I D is akin to witnessing a hurricane travel through the ocean from a close up underwater vantage point. They are modern lyrical compositions disfigured by elements of freely improvised music. M A D R I D will be available under PAU WAU RECORDS, a local Austin label that has already been voted one of the top 3 local labels by the Austin Chronicle reader's poll.
M A D R I D was recorded by the masterful Keith Gary, whose credits include Bill Withers, Simon and Garfunkel, Coldplay, Antony and the Johnsons, and more. Guitars were covered in mud, detuned beyond sensible range and plugged into dying amps stuffed with nails. Snow globes dangled helplessly from the studio rafters. Pigs were painted blue and let loose in the control room.
Future plans are to begin work on a new soundtrack for Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis”, as well as his new “SIGHTSOUNDS” project in which every week a new improvised piece accompanied by a different local artist’s work is released.

“[Madrid] sounds like the soundtrack to a collaboration between David Lynch and Woody Allen.”
