Description
This Swahili Album with both vocals and instrumentals is a sweet, catchy-melodious, nicely-upbeat, moderately-paced World fusion style with a touch of light Benga style and Afro rock sounds that will just warm your heart.
Notes
This album is about a variety of topics like love, peace, gratitude, nature, unity, praise and strength. It's mostly patriotic; singing about Kenya, its beauty and wealth, its people, its wildlife, its tourist attractions, its cities and also about Africa too. The Album is quite upbeat, melodious yet soothing at the same time. It has beats that will warm your heart, put a smile on your face and also put a pep in your step. It has both vocals and instrumentals, sung mainly in Swahili and yet it has a little something for everyone. The style varies from song to song from World fusion, Coastal beat, Afro rock with a touch of light Benga sounds and a little Jazz vibe. For those who like to listen to something warm, upbeat, and quiet at the same time, there's instrumentals here for you too. I'll leave it at that and let you discover the rest for yourself while enjoying the music.
Now, a little bit about me: I started singing and writing songs when I was about 4 years old, even though my mom told me that I was quite musical from a much earlier age. She told me that when she was pregnant with me, she could feel me kicking to the beats and sound of music. I remember singing or writing songs just about anything and everything at that age, from play songs to songs about my family, about school, people, nature and even lullabies. My family and friends joked that, if anybody was looking for me, all they had to do was listen up for where a singing sound was coming from and voilà, there I was!
This may sound funny but, at that time, I was too young to understand or notice the difference between my relationship with music and other people's. I thought that songwriting and singing is natural to everyone, something that people just did. Once I started singing, I went on and on and could write a song at the drop of a hat. All I knew at that age is that I really truly enjoyed music with every fibre in me and that music is a major part of my life. Surprisingly, its's my family that made me realize that what I have is a talent because every time I sang, they would listen and encourage me, cheer me on or even join in. I have to confess; I actually earned a few nicknames for being such a songbird! I'm so grateful for this album.
Have fun listening and thank you for your support.
