Description
Alanna's smooth vocals capture the essence of a golden-beamed afternoon. Influenced by Astrud Gilberto, she brings her own style by combining her insightful lyrics with quirky and catchy melodies.
Notes
Born in Hawaii, and now residing in Brooklyn, New York, this songstress seems to thrive in contrast. Hard to pin her look down, Alanna is a tall mix of Filipino and Caucasian. She learned how to play flute and then made a switch to trombone in high school. Early on, she had a love for anything vintage and appreciated jazz, samba, funk, alternative & electronic music. Juggling modeling and school, she began singing songs like “Girl From Ipanema” and “Corcovado” with a jazz band in college.
Upon moving to New York, Alanna began to write more and collaborate with new producers. She was introduced to Andrew Wyatt ( Miike Snow & Fires of Rome) by a photographer and then formed an electronic band called OKtoberlight. Her first published song was a fun one they wrote together called “Pop Goes My Heart." It was in the film, Music and Lyrics and Hugh Grant sang it.
On this self-released EP, Alanna worked with producers Kip Packard, Joe Davi and Patrick Quade.
Currently, she is recording more songs in New York for her next release.
