This record features without a doubt one of the Best Reggae Drumming Performances ever heard in Reggae.
The record is a Tribute to the Roots Reggae of the Seventies and Eighties that had so much influence in us growing up as musicians.
Alberto wants to thank Sal Navarrete, Gina G Irie Gonzalez, Eric Chiney Rios, El Hermano L, Eureka Azahara, Arrels (Mallorca), Donovan Leon, Tafar Watkis, Alfredo Pittoni, Robi Gobbi, Gabriel Juan Ferrer Bordoy (Bily), Natal Elohym, The islands of Mallorca and Jamaica (where the inspiration to those riddms come from).
Hope You enjoy the music.

Ras Donovan-I (born Donovan C. Leon) entered this world in June 1962. He grew up in Trench Town, Jamaica with mother Barbara (aka Kitty). He was the sixth of seven children, but he quickly asserted his own identity as the musician in the family. His passion for music started to overflow at the tender age of six years old. Young Ras Donovan-I was often seen in the local bar signing to the melodies of an old jukebox.
Growing up in Trench Town afforded Ras Donovan-I a unique connection with Reggae trail blazers such as Joe Higgs, Toots and the Maytals, The Mighty Diamonds, and Johnny Clarke. Reggae music was so infused in his community; it spilled over into many aspects of his life. He would have daily jam sessions at his beloved Charlie Smith High School. Not having real music equipment, he would drum on classroom desks and sing to crowds of his admiring classmates. After graduating high school, he won a scholarship to Jamaica School of Art. He is not only an incredibly talented musician; he is also an accomplished painter and craftsman.
Ras Donovan-I developed a unique style of singing over his twenty year career, which often left the audience feeling thrilled. His artistry has even been likened to Dennis Brown and Freddie McGregor. He recorded his first single at Jammy's Recording Studio in Kingston, Jamaica which was titled “Romeo & Juliet”. The single was released in England in 1983. Donovan migrated to the US in August 1987 and later joined a group called The Reggae Foundation Band Inc. The group released their first album in 1995 called "Jah Is Alive and Well", mixed and mastered at Tuff Gong Studio in Jamaica. Ras Donovan-I has been entertaining his fans in California for the pass fifteen years. He has shared stages with international artists like Burning Spears, Ziggy Marley, Rita Marley, Culture, Third World, Big Youth, Delroy Wilson, and Ken Boothe. Ras Donovan-I stated that he is “looking forward to strengthening the message and livity of Rastafari and opening the eyes of the youths to pursue an education.”
