Notes
Dancing in the Sunshine is Al Boulton's second album, this time returning with the Al Boulton Band. Its a mix of acid jazz, funk, disco, chillout- combining these styles throughout the album. The album took 18 months to complete and is a more mature album musically than Bang Bang Macau. 15 musicians perform on the CD, selected by Al Boulton who knew what sounds would bring out what he heard in his head. The songs were finished much quicker than the first album due to the number of high calibre of musicians that were available to play on it. Al wants to spread more happiness in the world, so the songs are light hearted and positive. As a reaction to some of the bad news of modern times, Al wants his music to help people create a better world and so paints a picture of that world with his music. Al also wants people to dance and party, a wise man once said that to seek joy is pure wisdom.
