Description
An original work of Progressive Rock and New Age inspired by the majestic sequoia and redwood trees.
Notes
The story begins in August of 2005 when Ale, for the first time, visited Sequoia National Park in California, USA. As he walked in the forest, he was astonished at the greatness of the giant trees. These trees have been witnesses of human history, some of them being thousands of years old.
The impact of this and subsequent visits was so powerful that Ale wrote the instrumental piece The Giant Trees in 2007 in honor of these majestic beings. Followed by this piece was the inspiration to write an album in homage of giants of today and the past. Some of the songs where already in Ale’s repertoire, yet all the songs in The Giant Trees album, both old and new, suited together to form a tribute to the greater ones among us.
The result is an album that combines different musical styles, from progressive rock and new age to some touches of Celtic and Baroque. There are parts that come from inspiration, others explore deep emotions, some are live’s reflections and others bring entertainment and excitement.
