ALEX GORDON


Born in London, England, from Scottish descent, Alex's music stems from his awareness of people and their environment. He has travelled from London to Kenya, Italy, New York, New Orleans, Memphis and Montréal, where he teamed up with Ginny B. - a Jazz singer.

HIGHLIGHTS

U.K. - 'MIRAGE' - (co-founder) - 2 records released - 'Summer Grooves' - ( Carlin/Flamingo/RCA ) and 'As from Now' - (Copasetic). 'Summer Grooves' sold 25,000 units in 7 weeks (1980), charting nationally, also in the London soul charts where it went to No. 1, also in the French Eurovision charts.

Live performances at Glastonbury Festival to 120,000 people, The Rainbow, Hammersmith Palais and the British Odeon Circuit.

Italy - Television appearances, RAI and regional. Residency in Milan - keyboards and vocals. Three tours of Europe. Co-produced and co-hosted own show for Radio Citta Aperto for three months.
Live performance with and song for - Nelson Mandela. 'Africa Free' released by Tendance Records. All of this with Marina Fiorentini.

Dubai - Three month residency at the Ambassador hotel

Montreal - Residency with 'Naki' at 'Sous L'Escalier'. Won first prize at 'Le Festival de Blues de Sherbrooke. Residency at Cafe Sarajevo with Ginny B. Residency at the 'Black Cat', Magog. Jazz jam residency at 'Les Minots' with Ginny B.
