Description
This record captures her youthful and dramatic musical energy though deceptively simple means - acoustic ukulele. The result is a mellow, sometimes haunting sound.
Notes
At 17, Alex introduced herself to the Seattle music community as the lead singer of the indie/pop band As It Starts. This was a project that started in a battle of the bands contest put on annually at the Kirkland Teen Union Building. After recording a 5 song EP at KTUB, As It Starts entered the Experience Music Project's annual battle of the bands, Sound Off-2013. A finalist at Sound Off, As It Starts played on the Sky Church stage at the Experience Music Project to a packed house.
Following her experience at Sound Off, Alex began working on a solo project while playing shows in and around Seattle. As she began putting together material for a solo EP, she was asked to perform with her friends in Seattle rock band, Alabaster. Alex had the privilege of playing the legendary Showbox Seattle with Alabaster in one of their last shows.
Alex is now in the process of working on material for a new EP scheduled for release in the fall of 2014. She is excited to take her well crafted lyrics and haunting vocals into the studio and be backed by a full band. She is also booking shows locally.
