Riff powered speed rock from the Motor City (Detroit, MI). Ideal for fans of Motorhead, Zeke, Acid King, Goatsnake and Valient Thorr

Against The Grain is a 4 piece speed rock band from Detroit, MI that has made a name for themselves in
their hometown and surrounding mid west territories through their relentless touring, recording and DIY
ethic. Formed in 2009, the band consists of brothers Chris and Rob Nowak, Nick Bellomo, Kyle Davis
and Bryan Griffin. In their short amount of existence, they’ve managed to self-release their debut album
entitled “Motor City Speed Rock” and play/tour with some of the heaviest hitters going today in their
genre of music (i.e. Valient Thorr, Nashville Pussy, Zeke, Riverboat Gamblers, The Dwarves, Holley 750
to name a few).

Their latest album “Surrounded By Snakes” is a set to be released on vinyl for the first time in Summer
2013 by a partnership between Self Destructo Records and Shattered Platter. The album is somewhat a
step in a different direction and tempo from their debut full length “Motor City Speed Rock released in
May 2012.” While MCSR was more Mötorhead/Zeke style driven, this has more of a stoner groove edge
to it, while still maintaining the intensity of their last release. The song writing touches on subjects such
as life on the road (Get In The Van, Surrounded By Snakes), choices/paths made individually (Don’t Care
What You Say).
