Born Again

Singer and songwriter, Eddie McDowall is hitting the rock scene with a fresh point of view. Early in life, Eddie along with many young people were touched by the power of rock and roll music. At the age of 18, he left Toronto for Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the pursuit of becoming the ultimate rock musician.

Like any young, bright and talented musician in the ‘80’s Eddie was dreaming of becoming a rock star. He was easily influenced by the crowd and lived a lifestyle prone to getting high and into trouble. “The high an art would transmit” he believed then was the ultimate inspiration to writing songs and his music.

It wasn’t long until his lifestyle caught up to himjavascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$rightColumn$btnSave',''). Having landed in jail on a loitering charge, he remembers the night in prison that changed his life. He recalls the strong words of the volunteer librarian who worked in the jail. “Jesus is where it was at”. Desperate for answers, Eddie through a simple act of faith decided to give Jesus a try. He called upon the name of the Lord in prayer and that night, Jesus came into Eddie’s life and changed him. Eddie remembers experiencing a joy and peace he had never known before. Jesus took away the sorrow and the fear and gave him new hope.

There were many trials to follow since that night, but Eddie never let go of his faith. He even learned to write music at the Krome Avenue Detention Center who had courses offered by the Miami Date School System. Eventually, he returned to Ontario to build his life and music with the new life given to him. Today, Eddie McDowall is on the verge of his life’s dream of being an accomplished rock singer, songwriter, musician and producer. He is currently releasing a three song CD single with the track “Born Again” which chronicles his actual life experiences under the stage name “Agent 777”. A self-made businessman and artist, Eddie’s passion for his music is unique and heart felt. Eddie wants to reach today’s youth to remind them that doing wrong has costly consequences. He has reaped that lesson all his life. His music is a combination of rock superstar inspirations of his youth and his strong passion for the Lord. “There is a real sense of complete fulfillment from his music”.
