Description
Airheart performs traditional Christmas songs with simple, acoustic arrangements in three part harmony. Two favorite cover songs are included, And the Angels Cried and Little Drummer Boy. Their original arrangements are traditional, yet fresh and new.
Notes
Airheart is Dan Garner, Paula O'Neal and Amelia Blake, three seasoned musicians who stumbled upon their mutual love of tight harmonies while playing a benefit for a dog park in Shreveport, LA in 2011.
Their sound is folk/americana/skiffle, and they've been compared to the Mamas and the Papas, Crosby, Stills & Nash and the Civil Wars. Airheart has been together three years and released two CDs in that time.
Airheart has been featured at restaurants, house concerts, clubs and festivals throughout the Arklatex area, performing a mix of original tunes and familiar, favorite cover tunes arranged to accommodate their three part harmony. They've played in South Louisiana, on South Congress in Austin, Texas and as far east as Miami, Florida.
Having played with the Louisiana Hayride band at both the historic Shreveport Municipal Auditorium and the Strand Theater, Airheart is now an honorary member of the Louisiana Hayride. Their knowledge and appreciation of the history of Louisiana music led them to be chosen to represent Louisiana music with a performance at Travel South in Little Rock, AR in 2013.
Airheart’s most recent, as-yet-untitled album of all original songs has been recorded, is being produced by Texas singer/songwriter/producer Blind Dog Cook, and is due to be released by Fall 2014.
They are also currently are at work contributing original songs to a movie soundtrack, with a tentative release date of 2015.
