Description

Anthemic, garage-country from a SLO Scene four-piece with tight songwriting and southern-rock tendencies.

Notes

American Dirt is a 4 piece rock and roll band from the central coast of California. Their first full-length release (in 2013) was highly-acclaimed by online review sites such as Nine Bullets and Empty Bottles And Broken Souls, who described the band's sound as "balls to the wall... gritty, dirty, overdriven fuzzy rock and roll." Sunken Gardens is the band's second full-length album; once again released on the SLO label Twang N Bang, it continues to build the bands huge sound, blending in some swampy southern-rock elements, more tightly crafted songs, and more professional (but certainly not slick) recording quality.

This album is replete with working-class themes of disenfranchisement and loss, but at the same time the songs ring with defiance and a stubborn hope. Boasting three songwriters, American Dirt offers ten songs that could themselves be singles, bound together into an album that rocks from front to back, asking the audience to ponder dense lyrical content while stomping their boots and banging their heads.
