Soulful and heartfelt delivery of traditional Country Music.
Notes
Wayne grew up in North Louisiana where he was exposed to a broad background of musical genres. His father's side of the family was filled with talented musicians, immersed in Bluegrass and the lonesome sounds of 50's Country. His mother's family was strictly Gospel...Southern Gospel. He started playing piano when he was 8 years old, and within a year, he became the church pianist for a small Church of God congregation in Porterville, LA. In the 1960's, he began playing professionally where he discovered the Blues and the R&B sounds of Otis Redding, Joe Tex, Ray Charles, and others. His musical style became a definitive mix of all those influences of his formative years. Though he plays numerous instruments, his forte is piano and the B-3 Hammond.
Over the past 50 years, Wayne has shared his music in the nation's top venues, including The Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas, and The Sahara in Lake Tahoe......with performances in Reno, Honolulu, Kansas City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and countless others. He has opened for Ike & Tina Turner, Redd Foxx, Robert Goulet, T.G. Shephard, Gene Watson, Jimmy Dean, and many more. A versatile vocalist and keyboardist, Wayne also serves as Producer/Engineer in his own studio, FreMark Studios, in Bastrop LA. In 2008, he was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame.
