Description
The project ‚on the curiosity of silence‘ presents a curious journey to a musical, French state of mind through time and space.
Notes
12 years ago I started looking into the tonal specificities of different European regions. Hungary represents the first part of this journey. In 2002, I published a CD that reflects my intense compositional impressions of this country. All of the songs were lyrically recorded and interpreted by native musicians.
After Hungary, I turned to Spain, more specifically to Andalusia; Vienna was my next stop, followed by the Prague of the 1920s. Currently, in the year 2014, my musical journey through Europe has led me to France.
Of course this unique country also has its unique timbre, its vibrations, and its distinctive melodic and harmonious specificities. My music is intended to express these multifaceted bouquets the way I see them.
I am particularly lucky with the exceptional artists I have on board for this project. Claire Tudela and Claire Parizot who could be won as singers both combine subtlety with energetic vitality in an all natural way without ever being pretentious.
The violinist, Angelika Moskal, is an Austrian musician with an exceptional artistic spirit. Sporadically, I deployed an accordion which is played by Janina Schedy.
Along with these excellent musicians it was an easy task to musically interpret the selected poems by Louise Labé, Gérard de Nerval, Verlaine and Rimbaud, but also contemporary lyrics like René Char or Louise de Vilmorin.
