Note

Al Hooper was well known during the 60's and 70's with his group, THE BLUE DIAMOND SHOWBAND, which operated out of Toronto Ontario. During this period they were known as Canada's most recorded band with 36 L.P.'s and 53 singles to their credit, many of which reached the Top 10 on the charts. They recorded for Allied Records, Marathon Records, Dominion Records, RCA and Columbia. They recorded their first live album at Kingston Penitentiary, which gained mass publicity. They performed on radio and TV, and also in clubs, Arenas, commercials and at charity events across Canada and the U.S.A. Having spent three years at the famous HORSESHOE TAVERN in Toronto, they opened for artists such as Conwat Twitty, Tex Ritter, Charlie Pride, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Webb Pierce, Farron Young, Mac Wiseman and the list goes on.

Al now performs extensively in New Brunswick, where he built his own nightclub. Along with former band member Eddie Pourier, Al was inducted into the COUNTRY HALL OF FAME in June 1990.

In 1991, Al met Ray McGraw and he has been part of his show since that time. Ray, also born in New Brunswick, has been singing since the age of six and got his first guitar when he was 11. By the age of 14, Ray had his own group and performed at local dances and fairs. This eventually led to local nightclubs in Saint John. Ray spent several years in Nashcille, where he enjoyed success with Preston Slate as band leader and lead vocalist. In 1987, Ray wrote and recorded a gospel tape, ON EAGLES WINGS.

With their unique blend of harmony and their vast variety of music, Al and Ray have built up a large following in New Brunswick. After six months of hard work, Al and Ray recorded their first album, which includes 15 original songs, written by Al and Ray.

This album, with its unique blend of music and harmony will appeal to young and old alike.
