Notes
What do you do when you've got music pounding through your blood and body
like a fever, like a beast in possession, like a demon child trying to
devour you from the inside? Call the exorcist? NO, just let it out...for 21
straight days!
Alice Rose is back with "21 Days 2011"--another 21 songs written and produced in
21 consecutive days, one track done on each day. Back in 2007 she put
herself through this mad and completely freeing process and the results were
remarkable. The music was as diverse as Monday is from Saturday--moody,
whimsical, rough, soft, ecstatic--equally challenging and beautiful. And now
she's done it again. But Why?
To conceive and birth one song a day is a wicked challenge, and the only way
to do it is to give yourself to the process, throw out the rules and let the
music take you, possess you like an incubus, day after day for 21 days.
Alice was struck by fire, fever, fervor and sometimes nothing but the blank
page. But there's no time to be precious or fussy. No time for pondering and
perfection. No time for self-indulgent, slovenly rock star behavior. You
just have to get it out! And that's what she did!
The music of Alice Rose's new "21 Days 2011" is inspired, freaky, emotional and
experimental. She also made little videos for each song, showing her
process, her studio, her inspiration, her friends, her dog, Flip--whatever
struck her fancy for that day. Give "21 Days 2011" a listen and you'll discover
that the unpolished diamonds of this fresh, hot beast really shine through.
