Born in Mississippi in 1941 he then moved to Michigan at the age of 8. When he was 20 he joined the U.S. Forces and was based in the U.K and has lived here ever since. After leaving the Army he lived in London for many years working for music publishing companies. Al now in his seventies resides in beautiful West Wales with his partner Phyllis.
Amazingly Al only started writing songs in the last few years. Although he's always been surrounded by music it's like he's been soaking up life's experiences, both good and bad and storing them away for this time in his life. Al's lyrical content draws on a wealth of experience and a life that hasn't always been easy. It's plain to anyone that hears his music that it is raw emotion that drives his creative output!
Al's written over thirty songs in many different musical styles, sometimes about love, sometimes the state of the world, but what ever the subject the songs are always strong, catchy and full of soul
In October 2012 he teamed up with producer Owain Fleetwood Jenkins to work on this album. Owain and his studio musicians have joined Al in creating a collection of great songs with bags of groove and a natural feel.
This is an album not to be missed!
