Description
It eases you into this wonderland of musical soundscapes from the master of the genre.
Notes
Recorded after Sol Invictus, Liberatus is the third record in a trilogy of albums from All Green Lights. The mastermind behind the music, Ben Bettinson, crafted these ten pieces over the course of 4 years, meticulously sculpting the sounds from guitars, keyboards, drums, synthesizers and found sounds to create a more textured and grandiose album. This record has all the feeling of previous all green lights albums, with musical references to the first record Candida Pax with the passionate electric guitar heroics of that record, to the spaciousness and cool ambiance of the second album, Sol Invictus. Ty Russell plays on all the tracks here except for Mocha Sanani and Feel Good, bringing his masterful sense of timing and amazing feel. Marissa Reynolds, now much older then she was on Candida Pax, plays trumpets on Home, adding bright blasts of pure sonic joy. And new to the All Green Lights roster, Jenny Trnka sings siren-like vocals on Counting Raindrops. Liberatus will be a vinyl only release, with songs available for digital download, including 5 songs that are not incluaded on the LP: Dance Club, a bumping-thumper with references to house music, The Underground-a futuristic space oddesy, Brave-the actual real-time sounds of a car accident, complete with surreal disappearance of reality and abrupt re-entry, later taking off in a rocket ship, Rave-an electro piece which ends in swirling guitar, and Mocha Sanani with Childhood's end, the sound of morning and waking up, echoey slide guitar and ending by washing up on shore in a strange and unfamilar land, warmed by wavvy synths and remembering what it was like to be a kid again. Liberatus is mastered again by Brian Hazard at Resonace Mastering. The album artwork is by Ben and the lettering for the record is again provide by the talented Caitlin Sherwood.
