Notes
"Passion, liberty, and expression" serves as the foundation of the band, explained Jace Frenzy: guitarist, vocalist, and main songwriter for We The Machine. "Hopefully these songs will connect with our fans and inspire them to be themselves, whomever that may be. The whole concept of We The Machine is not to preach about a centralized message, but to encourage people not to be afraid of pursuing their beliefs, however popular or unpopular they may be."
These words, spoken by Frenzy in 2012, have proved to be the launching pad for the Boston-based band. Frenzy states, "There are a lot of things which sculpt our views and opinions; but passion is undeniable. We should embrace these ideas without fear of repercussion."
The band released their first two demo singles, "The Fallen" and "An Effort To Breathe" in the summer of 2012. In winter of 2012, the band released a Kickstarter bonus cover track, remaking Demi Lovato's "Give Your Heart A Break" to rave reviews an instant viral recognition from various notable media outlets like Disney and Under The Gun; "...We The Machine have definitely given us a fun sampler of their sound with this cover." cited the popular music review site.
They have since generated over 80,000 unique plays and downloads across various platforms including YouTube, Facebook, and iTunes. Their highly anticipated debut EP, "Dissenter", is scheduled to be released in North America in Summer 2013. We The Machine also finished in first place [top 20 nation-wide] in the 2013 Ernie Ball Warped Tour contest, which earned them a slot at the Boston date alongside bands like Crown The Empire, We Came As Romans, Memphis May Fire, I See Stars, August Burns Red, and many more.
Musically and lyrically, We The Machine does not restrict themselves. "These songs are about life, and all the feelings, thoughts, and emotions that play a part of it", says Frenzy. Listening to songs like "The Fallen", there are undoubted overtones of Faith, prosperity, and compassion. While "Mirrors" paints the story of an estranged family. Other topics of love, regret, optimism, and loss, are explored eloquently through the vocals of Frenzy and Longval, while heavy rhythms, impassioned screams, and sing-along choruses set the stage for the bands' overall sound.
"We want kids to come see us live and feel right on stage with us. Our fans are what really makes us want to do what we do", says Frenzy. "Enjoy the music for what it is, and take from it what means most to you. If we can connect with our fans on that level, it makes it all worth while."
