Description
An instrumental CD combining electronic rhythms with organic sounds . The pedal steel guitar is prominent . This CD is influenced by the german progressive bands of the late 60's and 70's. Like nothong else out there.
Notes
This is the fourth CD by Stephen Paul Dix released as The Arctic Zone. Stephen describes the music as Ameri-tronica as he is blending electronic rhythms with organic instruments , most notably the pedal steel guitar . This is an instrumental work , but robotic voices drift in and out courtesy of the vocoder . Stephen's love of german progressive rock, or Krautrock is more obvious with this outing . Kraftwerk is easy to hear , as well as the "motorik" sound of Neu. The song Seven gives a nod to Popol Vuh with it's use of the electric sitar. Fans of Tangerine Dream , Cluster, and Harmonia will also enjoy this unique treasure.
