Description
A compilation of songs written and performed by renowned Latin American rock and pop artists from Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Chile and Puerto Rico in a joint collaboration effort to promote musical styles that will delight listeners from all over the world
Notes
These artists joined together to create an album that will appeal to the musician inside us all. The tracks vary from the classical to electronic rhythms, from the sound of the electric guitar to the famous rhythm of the Peruvian "cajon". The album has served as the soundtrack for the upcoming Priscilla Project, a soon to be launched app designed to inspire kids to experiment with music, enhancing their creativity and ability to express their unique vision of the world. Monies from the sale of the app will help children in need, wherever they may be. Interaction with the music and the artists, aims at taking artistic expression to a new intuitive level, to a place where they may discover a passion for writing, producing, performing or simply just creating new songs. Though the artists on PLAY! are all different, and all tracks but one are in Spanish, you can distinctly hear the influences of great international artists such as the Beatles, American folk and country artists and even the incredible Bjork in the work of Iris Bringas. Nito Mestre, project leader and founder of Sui Generis, has played on the same stage as McCartney, Elton John, Paul Simon and Carlos Vives, and is today, a living legend in the history of Argentine rock and roll. The producer, Eduardo Cautino, a Juilliard graduate and renowned blues guitarist, has done a magnificent job in bringing these different musical styles together in a delightful combo of song. Enjoy!
