Description

If you like trying different flavors, then this bilingual mix of world music and storytelling is worth a taste!

Notes

A Splinter is an alternative world music band with a bilingual repertoire. The songs are based on real-life experiences, covering a wide array of topics from romance to war. They are written as stories which splinter off from the norm, dancing about in a warm breeze or lodging under your skin in a storm, making you deal with often ignored realities, while challenging you to find ways to laugh at it all, even through tears.

The band’s songs are written and performed in both Armenian and English, yet the messages are universal. With stories of friendship, betrayal, conformity and of course love, their songs celebrate the beautiful and sometimes the ugly, while hinting at some humor perching at the core of it all. Influenced by the likes of Ruben Hakhverdyan and Bob Dylan, coupled with Arabic, Gypsy and blues influences, the group takes the best from many worlds and delivers an originally eclectic sound of its own.

A Splinter is:

Ashot Tadevosian - Vocals and Guitar
Byuzand Azizyan - Jembe, Cajon and Vocals
Aragas Abramian - Guitar
Jon La Tona - Upright Bass
