Notes
"Listen To This" is now a Unified Tribe Classic and has sold out around the world. With riviting harmonies and captivation melodies, this album continues to be a favorite and is still available for download just about everywhere!
Unified Tribe is an eclectic group of fascinating individuals who celebrate R&B, funk, jazz, and soulful pop with captivating songs that range from sultry slow jams to blazing dance tracks. Under the direction of musical wizard Magic Mendez (2007 American Black Music Award winner, "Best Neo Soul Vocalist, Male"), the Tribe uses harmonic and rhythmic sophistication to build bridges between generations and genres.
Independent from the get-go, Unified Tribe debuted in 2001 with “Listen to This,” an album that was well received and resulted in a sizeable buzz for the group. They followed in 2003 with “Mixed Messages.” The diverse sound of the disc and the strong musicianship solidified their fiercely loyal following for the group. After a three year break from recording, in 2006, Unified Tribe self-released “FUNKtional Family,” their long-awaited third album. It was a hit, and became the group's first album to chart around the world when their 1st single release “Back and Forth” went #2 on the Hip-Hop/R&B Single Sales Chart and #17 on the Hot Single Sales Chart and the Album went #77 on the Hot Hip-Hop/R&B Songs Chart.
Unified Tribe is a multi-dimensional creative force. Under the umbrella of their parent company, Magic Muzik Productions, Inc., they produce their own material (writing, recording, mixing, editing, video, and print) as well as other major recording artists. Their Audio Workstation of choice is Sonar, by Cakewalk/Roland. Three of their songs have been featured as demonstration songs in the Sonar program, Back and Forth, Do U Wanna Come and Cakewalk’s newest version Sonar 8 features Unified Tribe’s upcoming single “Guilty”.
Unified Tribe has worked with a number of brilliant performers including The Whispers, Earth Wind and Fire, The Manhattans, Russ Freeman and the Rippingtons, Gerald Albright, Howard Hewett, Clint Black and Nia Peeples.
With empowering music and dynamic stage performances, Unified Tribe embraces diversity with unity as they promote and inspire harmony for all.
One Planet, One Tribe.
