<p> A Thirsting Soul's influences include: Led Zeppelin, Thrice, Boston, Black Sabbath, My Morning Jacket, Tool, Flight of the Concords, Metallica, Muse, Korn, Mumford and Sons, The Arctic Monkeys, Eric Johnson, The Psalms Project, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Primus, just to name a few. <p>

A Thirsting Soul firmly believes that all good music includes: awesome guitar solos, loud rippin' bass lines, loud rock'n drums, and words that mean something. Music is so disgustingly influential in this little world, and far too few of it contains substance that has any real meaning or eternal value. There is much hurt in the world & many sleepers and A Thirsting Soul desires to light lives on fire to stand up for justice & take a stand against self-indulgent culture to help bring the peace to our lives, as a community of human beings, that Christ Jesus wishes for the world, and most importantly, to bring people into a saving relationship with the Lover & Creator of their souls.

HOW IT BEGAN:

September 26, 2009 - the Holy Spirit of our God & Savior, Jesus Christ, paid aimless-agnostic guitarist & home-studio producer, Brandon Keaton, a visit that radically & spontaneously changed the course of his life's work in the matter of seconds. Upon hearing the news & witnessing the transformational work of God in Brandon's life, guitarist & vocalist Matthew Gomez surrendered his life to Christ, along with his wife Laura. Convicted by the love of our Lord, Matthew could no longer continue his musical pursuits in Broken Playground (a Metal band formed by the Gomez brothers, Joshua, Matthew & Jesse). One night, while sharing about where their hearts were, Matthew & Brandon quickly recorded their first collaborative effort together. The recording session ended with A Thirsting Soul's first track, "No More" and inspired a summertime of recording efforts that produced the two-man-band's 14-song debut-album. After an 8-year family missionary journey in the U.K. & a transformational year in YWAM, Marshall Mack met Brandon through his brother & sisters' invovement in Young Life and was presented with the opportunity to, both, play drums in a Gospel-oriented Hard-Rock band & have the opportunity to take the Gospel into the world, and it seemed too-good-to-be-true...
